1. Handhelds
Ulefone is gearing up for CES 2025, where it will introduce a lineup of AI-powered rugged smartphones. The company will unveil the Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra, Armor 29, and Armor 30 series, along with the Armor Mini 20 series and other devices. The Armor 28 Ultra series will run on the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chip, pack AI features, and include 2 AMOLED displays. All wrapped up in a rugged design!
On the other hand, Lenovo is preparing for a CES 2025 event focused on handheld gaming, with Valve joining as a special guest. While it might not sound like a big deal at first, Valve’s recent “Powered By SteamOS” branding guidelines suggest Lenovo could be launching a handheld device running SteamOS. Lenovo has also confirmed that “the future of handhelds is coming to CES 2025,” signaling it has something interesting in store for the event.
2. Laptops
CES 2025 promises to deliver big news for the laptop world, especially with the anticipated launch of Nvidia’s RTX 5090 graphics card. Although Nvidia hasn’t confirmed anything yet, rumors strongly point to a new flagship GPU. If we’re lucky, we might even see more budget-friendly options like the 5080, 5070, or 5060.
On the innovation front, Lenovo looks ready to show off its rollable laptop concept, according to Evan Blass. This design allows the screen to function as a standard display when rolled up but expand vertically to provide extra screen space. It’s easy to see how users could benefit from this extra flexibility.
ASUS plans to reveal a new Zenbook at its Always Incredible event. This ultralightweight laptop, which ASUS claims to be the world’s lightest Copilot+ PC, also promises exceptional efficiency. Powered by a Snapdragon X series, Intel Lunar Lake, or AMD Ryzen AI chip, the Zenbook looks set to combine portability with cutting-edge performance.
Gamers should keep an eye on ASUS, too, as the company teases its new ROG Strix gaming laptop. The company’s CES 2025 preview highlights an RGB strip running around the chassis, perfect for lighting enthusiasts. ASUS will likely include its Aura Sync software, letting users customize the RGB effects to match music, games, or hardware activity.
3. TVs
LG will showcase its new QNED evo TVs at CES 2025, following its recent announcement.
The 2025 LG QNED lineup introduces true wireless 4K video transmission to more models, which is a huge win for anyone who dislikes cables. Since few TVs support wireless video transmission, LG’s expansion of this tech gives consumers something to look forward to.
On top of that, LG improves the audio quality of its 2025 QNED evo models with the α8 AI Processor. This processor enhances the AI upscaling, HDR effects, and lighting. The new AI Magic Remote also includes an AI button, providing users with quick access to features like AI-driven recommendations for what to watch.
Meanwhile, TCL will present its QD-Mini LED technology, which combines elements of QLED and OLED. The QD-Mini LED provides precise backlighting, delivering better contrast and a wider color range. Plus, higher brightness and longer-lasting performance.
4. AI and wearables
Samsung is really leaning into AI, seeing it as both a present and future game changer for their business. While they haven’t launched their own LLM or chatbot yet, they’ve already integrated Google’s AI technology into their mobile devices and services. That’s just the start, though. The company has major plans across a variety of products and markets. They’re gearing up to unveil their “AI for All”.
What’s more, Mohan Kumar shared with Forbes that he expects CES 2025 to showcase the next step in ambient AI. This shift will move us beyond just smart gadgets. We’ll see fully connected environments where devices anticipate and respond to our needs—without us even having to ask. It’s definitely something worth getting excited about. Meanwhile, Shamaila Mahmood mentioned in her CES 2025 preview that one of the highlights will be AI-powered health and wellness tech. This includes wearables and home systems that offer real-time monitoring, predictive insights, and personalized suggestions.
As for wearables, I think AI and AR glasses will get plenty of attention. With the Meta Ray-Bans, Meta Orion prototype, and the recent Android XR announcement sparking interest, it feels like the perfect time for these devices to shine.
5. Smart home
LG has come up with a cool new lamp that doubles as an indoor garden. It blends indoor lighting and gardening in a way that makes it easier for you to grow plants while keeping your space cozy. The idea is to let you grow decorative or fruit plants inside your home while also enjoying some great lighting. “Our new indoor gardening appliances offer a fresh way for customers to create their own green spaces, have fun growing plants, and bring a modern touch of style to their homes,” says Lyu Jae-cheol, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company.
There’s a good chance we’ll see even more quirky furniture with built-in appliances. Think of something like the Sonos IKEA Symfonisk table lamp speaker, but taken to the next level. I’m always excited to check out these kinds of innovations.
Robot vacuums are also stepping up their game. We can expect upgrades like magnetic mops, quad bike-style suspension, and plenty of other new features. But what we’re really hoping for is a vacuum that can climb stairs, right?
6. Automotive
Cars have been stealing the spotlight at CES in recent years. Last year’s highlights included the Sony-Honda AFEELA car, exciting progress in autonomous driving, and even the promise of flying cars straight out of science fiction. This year, the Sony-Honda AFEELA EV is raising the bar. Attendees get a chance to explore its advanced features and onboard tech.
BMW is joining the action with what it calls ‘the first-ever BMW Panoramic iDrive display- and operating-concept of the Neue Klasse in a “magical” way.’ Alongside this reveal, BMW says it’s “setting standards for in-vehicle experience with a clear focus on driver orientation, safety, and personalization.”
7. Robotics
One of the coolest things about CES is the variety of tech products on display. Some quirky, some amazing, but virtually all super interesting. Take the Romi Lacatan, for example. It’s a “conversational AI robot” that can carry on a detailed, real-time chat while talking about what it hears and sees.
And if that wasn’t enough, CES 2025 will feature exoskeletons like the XoMotion. It takes assistive tech up a notch, with improvements in agility and balance. It’s designed to help those recovering from spinal cord injuries, strokes, and other neurological conditions. Overall, robotic rehabilitation is becoming one of the most promising ways to help people regain walking function after spinal cord injuries.
