If you still aren’t keen on ditching your current Windows 10 PC some new devices might finally convince you it’s time to switch to Windows 11. A fully rebooted breed of computers, named Copilot+, have just gone on sale which are now powered by new ARM processors from the team at Qualcomm.
During its launch event last month, Microsoft boasted that its latest Snapdragon X Elite laptops are so mighty they will even beat Apple’s award-winning M3 MacBook when it comes to sheer grunt. Along with getting more power, these new devices should also last a lot longer thanks to improved efficiency from the ARM chip inside. Treat them kindly and you could find the battery keeps on going for over 20 hours on a single charge.
It’s not just on the inside that things are getting a refresh. There’s also the first change to keyboard in years with all Copilot+ laptops now featuring a dedicated Copilot button. Once tapped, it will instantly launch the lever Copilot AI assistant on the display.
For those who haven’t used Copilot before, this service is mightily impressive. Ask it pretty much anything and you’ll get an instant and highly detailed response.
Another update coming to all Copilot+ PCs is a new feature called Recall. Think of this a little like a more interactive way to search your PC with it offering a quick way to scroll back through time and see exactly what was happening on the device weeks before.
This data-heavy function has been made possible thanks to a Neural Processing Unit which is now inside all Copilot+ PCs.
If any of that sounds enticing then there are a bunch of laptops that have just gone on sale including a Surface Laptop and Surface Pro from Microsoft. The Surface Laptop and Surface Pro both start from £1,049.
Samsung has also launched its new Galaxy Book4 Edge which comes in two screen sizes and packs that X Elite chip under its shell.
The 14-inch model starts from £1,399 plus there’s a bigger 16-inch version which will set you back £1,699.
